Delmarva's Best Slow Food Recipes
Cooking with the freshest local ingredients and taking pleasure in the cooking process is essential to the Slow Food Kitchen. Delmarva is rich with fertile fields, bountiful waterways and family farms. Our communities have many local artisans creating delicious culinary products for our home kitchen. Our winemakers, brewers, bakers, butchers, and others provide us with the best Delmarva has to offer. Our family history includes recipes that have been passed down for generations. It’s the tradition of preparing a recipe our grandmother made for her family, that we serve our family today. Sometimes these recipes come from another place, and preparing them reminds us of that place. Slow Food Delmarva is looking for your favorite traditional family recipe and we want to know the story of how it became a family favorite. Was it from the sun ripen peaches of the local farm or from the harvest of the family garden? Maybe its just the memory of your mother waking early and the aroma of her baking. Is the fermentation of your sour kraut a tradition your grandfather learned from his father? a Slow Food Delmarva is working on more than just a cookbook; we want to share your recipe and to tell the story of your Slow Food traditions. Now through January 1, 2012 you can submit your recipes and stories to Slow Food Delmarva by email at
